Want to embark on the ultimate summer getaway? No need to leave the Lone Star State. Texas boasts six of the country’s best summer vacation destinations, according to WalletHub, a personal-finance website. Dallas-Fort Worth landed at No. 8 on WalletHub’s list of the top 20 summer vacation spots. Other Texas cities on the list include Houston at No. 7 and Austin at No. 12. San Antonio came in at No. 38 and El Paso at No. 40; McAllen rounded out the Texas destinations at No. 42.

To help travelers plan the perfect summer vacay, WalletHub’s data crunchers compared the country’s 80 largest metro areas across 38 key indicators of budget- and fun-friendliness. The data set ranges from cost of the cheapest flight to number of attractions to average price of a two-person meal.
