When Dragons head back to class, the AP Booster Club wants to give them a little extra incentive to work hard in the classroom. It is rolling out the All Star Students program to recognize students who make the All A Honor Roll each nine weeks at Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High.
“The All Star Students program is a great program to recognize Carroll ISD students bringing their A-game to their academics. With the high expectations and rigor of Carroll ISD, it is an excellent way to showcase and bring recognition to those students who maintain focus and achieve in the classroom,” says Shawn Duhon, CSHS principal. “We are very proud of all Dragon students in their academic accomplishments, but for those that can achieve all As each semester is certainly something to be Dragon Prideful in!”
P.J. Giamanco, CHS principal, is also enthusiastic about the program. “It is a chance for us to do regular highlights of our successful students who we are lucky to be surrounded by daily,” he says. “We are blessed to be provided 1,000-plus students who could be top 10 percent in any district in the state, but they’re Dragons, and they’re challenged daily by each other for success.”
The AP Boosters have received strong support in the past for its scholarship program and believe the All Star Students program will provide another outlet for the community to rally behind academically minded students. Sponsors include Frost Bank and Wanderlust Travel Shop. For details on sponsoring the program, contact Dawn Tongish at email@example.com.
