Watch Butterflies Flutter By at Bob Jones Nature Center

Sep 21, 2017 08:00AM ● Published by Audrey Sellers

Look to the skies on Saturday at Bob Jones Nature Center: Hundreds of winged wonders will soar at the third-annual Monarch Butterfly Festival. All are invited to the free event that kicks off at 9 a.m. and includes festival activities such as a wildflower seed-bomb toss, butterfly costume parade, photo booth, butterfly crafts, face painting and the big event: a monarch butterfly release led by the Perennial Garden Society of Southlake.

The festival grew from approximately 50 attendees to 500 from 2015 to 2016, and BJNC expects even larger crowds this year. Plan to arrive early for the fanfare and then watch in wonder as 500 tagged butterflies are released at 10 a.m.

Visit BJNC.org for more information.
