Did you know 72% of all football players entering the NFL have sustained a foot and ankle injuries, and 13% of players entering the NFL have required surgical treatment? Football players are frequently subjected to high levels of force and torque placed on the lower extremity during running, cutting, and tackling. Ankle sprains are the most common foot and ankle injury experienced by football players but a multitude of other injuries can occur including turf toe, Jones fractures, Lisfranc injuries, ankle syndesmosis injuries, and achilles ruptures.
