Foodie lovers and helpless romantics alike treat themselves on Valentine’s Day to lavish meals at the city’s finest restaurants. And this year, there’s even more reason to dine out because so many hotspots are pulling out all the stops. We have the scoop on who’s serving up the most luxurious prefixed menus in town for Valentine’s Day. So don’t wait to make your reservation, because these spots are bound to fill up. For an upscale steakhouse and seafood experience, come down to Cool River Café. From February 9 to 14, Cool River Café in Los Colinas will offer a three-course menu for celebrating couples. You can choose among their Cool River Salad with Granny Smith apple Danish blue cheese, candied pecans and maple vinaigrette; their Caesar Salad with shaved Parmesan and toasted garlic croutons; or their Champagne & Brie Soup. Their featured entrée is Filet & Lobster – two six-ounce filet mignon and two cold-water lobster tails served with brandy-peppercorn demi-glaze, Boursin smashed potatoes and steamed broccolini. This popular Valentine’s restaurant spot is still offering their full menu for Valentine’s Day, but is also featuring a steak special. Their 12-ounce Wagyu Steak will be served with black truffle butter for $58 a serving. It is served with a choice of hand-mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, hand-cut frites, lemon-charred broccoli or their famous truffle mac and cheese. You can match it up with their featured wine Robert Foley’s “The Griffin” for only $85. It's central location makes it an easy first stop on a Valentine's Day adventure in Southlake Town Square.
Enjoy a taste of Emilia-Romagna at this authentic Italian restaurant. Loveria Caffe prides itself on its handmade daily dishes that show off the best aspects of Italian food culture. Their lavish evening starts off with a bit of champagne before the four-course meal begins. Their dinner includes their Insalata Valentina and Quiche ai Formaggi to start, followed by either their Risotto di Mare (Italian Arborio rice pared with vegetable and fish stock, lemongrass herbs and topped with pan-seared scallops) or Ravioli agli Spinaci (handmade ravioli stuffed with fresh ricotta and organic baby spinach served with extra virgin olive oil, basil, parsley and grated parmigiano reggiano), with their Filetto ai Funghi – a six ounce prime filet mignon served with porcini mushrooms and Valpolicella red wine reduction garnished with micro greens – as the main entrée. Cap off your night with their Torta al Cioccolato con latte Caramellato – a rich chocolate cake made with garbanzo and fava bean flour paired with caramel cream sauce. This quaint inn is known for its fine dining and elegant accommodations, so it’s no surprise it is featuring a beautiful Valentine’s Day menu. Their appetizer course includes either their featured salad, The Enchantment – baby spinach tossed in an espresso peach vinaigrette topped in marinated red onions, candied pecans, fresh strawberries and pomegranate seeds, or their Thai Style Seared Ahi Tuna – served in a coconut curry broth with basil, julienned carrots, mint and cilantro. Before moving to the next heavy course, diners can enjoy their Pomegranate Basil Sorbet to cleanse their palate. Then they can choose among the Classic Chicken Francaise – lightly breaded sautéed chicken with lemon butter white wine sauce served with season vegetables, the Grilled Fillet of Beef Tenderloin – served with potato galette with ancho butter and cipollini onions as well as their seasonal vegetables, and finally their Lobster Ravioli – sautéed in garlic butter and tossed in a basil pesto cream sauce. From February 10 to 14, the Melting Pot in Arlington will host a Valentine’s Day Celebration. Their featured menu includes a choice of Green Goddess Cheddar, Bacon and Jalapeno or Tomato Cheese Fondue. You can also choose between their Strawberry Almond Salad with Black Walnut Raspberry Vinaigrette, The Melting Pot House Salad served with House Dressing or a Caesar salad. Their entrees include a Cold-Water Lobster Tail, Bacon Salt and Cracked Pepper Filet Mignon, Garlic and Wine Chicken Breast, Roasted Garlic Shrimp, Seasoned Angus Sirloin, Memphis BBQ Pork Tenderloin and a featured pasta. Desserts include their Snickers Chocolate Fondue or Create Your Own Chocolate Fondue. Each four-course menu comes with a bottle of champagne and a dozen roses. You will also walk away with a souvenir photo to help remember your evening out.
For a taste of France, make your reservation at Trio New American Restaurant. Start out with their Endive Roquefort Salad made with stone fruit, walnuts, brioche and water citrus vinaigrette. For the next course, diners can decide between their Saffron P.E.I. Mussels served with a baguette, dry mustard and white wine or their Wagyu Beef Tartare served with quail egg, capers, shallots, chive oil and truffle toast. The third course options are their Crispy Skate Wine with fennel onion confit, hazelnut and citrus olive brown butter; Poulet Roti made with gruyere cauliflower gratin, turnips, Thumbelina carrots and lemon thyme jus; or Bordeaux Braised Short Ribs served with fingerling pomme frites, favas and foie gras perigourdine. The meal is rounded out with their Chocolate Gateau topped with a valrhona mousse and wine and berry coulis.
