Have You Gone Country?

Feb 01, 2018 02:03PM ● By Ashley Madonna

Alan Jackson's music isn't something you can just listen to — his music demands to be felt, enjoyed and blared loudly from the rolled-down windows of your truck. Now this country music icon (and newly inducted Country Music Hall of Fame artist) is rolling into town to perform at Verizon Theatre as part of his Honky Tonk Highway Tour! Come dressed in your best blue jeans and beat-up cowboy boots, and get ready to dance the night away to old school favorites like "Chattahoochee," "Gone Country" and "It's Five O' Clock Somewhere." Expect to hear (and fall in love with) new songs at the concert as well, including his most recent single "The Older I Get."

For almost 30 years, Jackson has been writing and singing songs about love, beer, hard work and living life, through the sounds of classic honky tonk, mainstream county, bluegrass and gospel. With 24 albums under his belt, including two Christmas albums and four greatest hits collections, Jackson knows a thing or two about making good music. His sexy country twang and catchy melodies have earned him 35 number one singles, more than 150 industry awards (with 18 Academy of Country Music Awards, 16 Country Music Association Awards and two Grammy Awards), and almost 60 million album sales. Even though he has had a long, successful career, Jackson is still a down-home country boy at heart. His music will still make you want to stomp your boots, sip on a cold drink and celebrate life. The older we get, the more we realize how wonderful those things—and Alan Jackson himself—really are.
