Southlake Carroll’s varsity winter guard defended their championship title from last season at the North Texas Colorguard Association high school competition on Saturday in Alvarado, TX. The varsity team took home first place in the National A class.
Their captivating performance draws inspiration from movements on the molecular level. The human body is constantly creating different electric impulses that drive thoughts, growth and motion, and their performance explores the journey of how that system affects our everyday lives.
The varsity team is directed by Daphne Adkison and James Thomas. The set is designed by Marty Koenig and Bryan Harston. Costumes are created by Texas Motion Sports. And the performance’s original music is written and performed by David Walker.
The junior varsity team also competed and placed second in the new advanced Scholastic A class.
The varsity team will now be moving onto the WGI Dallas Regional followed by WGI Tulsa Regional and the WGI Southeast Power Regional in Orlando, Florida. You can also catch their electric show at a few local shows within the North Texas Color Guard Association.
