With the spring weather finally coming out this weekend, it's time to get outside and enjoy some time with the family. And with sunny skies and moderate temperatures, now may be the best time to sneak in some new family photos. If you are looking for a fun activity that is also the perfect backdrop for your next Facebook cover photo, check out these family-friendly events.
All aboard for one of the year’s most exciting family-friendly adventures! The Grapevine Vintage Railroad is hosting the 15th annual Day Out With Thomas – Big Adventures Tour 2018. The event will include a 25-minute ride with Thomas the Tank Engine leading the way. During that period, kids can enjoy some great themed entertainment, storytelling, live music and much more. Thomas will leave the station on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next!
Help your kids find a little more zest in their lives by attending Taste Buds Kitchen’s Quiche Fromage Workshop on Saturday. Children ages five to eight are welcome to come out and learn how to make these cute little French pastries. After whipping up a few cracked eggs, cheesy and just a zest of nutmeg on top, your kids will want to scarf down each of these delicious treats.
If you’ve been eagerly waiting for bluebonnets to pop up across town, you may want to head over to the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Every Saturday, until June 2, their staff will lead guided walking tours through their one-mile network of trails on the grounds. Guests will be able to learn more about the wildflowers, along with a variety of native plants and grasses, while exploring one of Dallas’ most beautiful locations.
Music lovers of all ages can come out to Southlake Town Square’s Rustin Pavilion for a rocking night. MasterWorks Concert Series will bring out Zack King on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for a free musical performance. This family-friendly event is a perfect opportunity to bond with your kids while taking in a show. Be sure to bring out your lawn chair, cooler and bug spray, and sit back to enjoy this sweet night out on the square.
Treat your family to a great dining experience while also giving back by participating in Dine to Donate. Restaurants like Boi Na Braza, Great Scott, Loveria Caffe, Mac’s on Main, Copeland’s, Mason & Dixie and Grapevine Craft Brewery are hosting unique culinary events and are giving a percentage of the proceeds to GRACE. The event runs from April 13 to 22, so you have lots of opportunities to try out new local restaurants.
