CISD Rolls In New Buses

Jul 17, 2018 10:14AM ● Published by Maleesa Johnson

Carroll ISD showed off their new school buses last week, which were purchased as part of the 2017 Bond Program. They are equipped with new seat belts, making them compliant with Texas’ new safety legislation.

The Bond Builders – CISD students selected by the district to inform the community on bond projects – loaded up on the buses while sporting their green hardhats. They were the first to try out the new CISD vehicles on July 9. The district plans to continue rolling in these buses over the next five years.

Eleven new, conventional 77-passenger school buses arrived in the district this month. The district also used bond dollars to purchase two regular 47-passenger buses, two special education buses and two flat-nosed transit buses for student activities, competitions and long-distance travel. A second order for another 15 buses was approved by the School Board on February 26 and will also be available for use during the 2018-2019 school year.
