From New York hot dog cart to international burger mogul, Shake Shack has grown exponentially since it opened its first permanent kiosk in 2004. Known for its long lines, classic burgers and creamy custards, the quick-service, casual eatery has gained a cult following who won’t let anything get in the way of their next bite. Now, the chain is moving a little bit closer to Southlake.
There are already three Shake Shacks in DFW: Uptown, north Dallas and west Plano. But there soon will be two more. Shake Shack will open in Terminal C at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport sometime later this year as part of the airport's $2.7 billion terminal remodeling project. This will be their first location in Tarrant County.
But if you want to sick your teeth into one of their burgers without booking a flight, you'll soon be in luck. Their newest DFW venture includes a location in Irving, as reported by CultureMap. They plan on opening their doors by the end of this year.
Whether you stick to the classic Shake Shack, order yours with a gluten-free bun or want to try their new veggie option, there's plenty to enjoy with each visit in. One thing is for sure, the local burger game is definitely being cranked up a notch.
