Nothing dampens weekend fun like cold, rainy weather. While the end of this week looks to be full of showers, it can still be full of fun. Here are some fun activities to help your family have the best weekend, while indoors of course.
Enjoy some local theater while supporting the Carroll Senior High School by checking out their production of “Side Show” this weekend. The story follows the true tale of conjoined twins sand famed entertainers Violet and Daisy Hilton. The pair act as a reminder of the importance of celebrating what makes us unique and are sure to touch the audience’s hearts. Performances will be held at Carroll Senior High School Auditorium and run Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.

“Magic Tree House” fans will love seeing Jack and Annie whisk back in time to visit Victorian England. There they will meet the famous writer Charles Dickens and help him share his story with the world. This adventure-filled production is recommended for children ages six and up and will be holding performances on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

For a traditional production of this seasonal favorite, head over to the Wyly Theatre this weekend to see Dallas Theater Center’s “A Christmas Carol.” This family-favorite story will take every audience on a journey through Christmases past, present and future to learn about the true meaning of the holiday.

See the classic tale paired with music during “Scrooge, the Musical” at Uptown Theater in Grand Prairie. The Charles Dickens story comes to life in a whole new way thanks to writer-composer-lyricist Leslie Bricusse. After listening to these fun tunes and following along to timeless story, your kids will be more than excited for the Christmas season.

It may not be theater, but Saturday night lights will act as spotlight during Saturday’s matchup at The Star in Frisco. The Southlake Dragons will take on the Duncanville Panthers during the fourth round of 2018 UIL postseason. And while Dragon fans have surely had to sit though rain delays this season, they sound rest assured that the game will take place indoors.
