Mike & Nicole Tesoriero - Publishers

Mike and Nicole developed the idea for Southlake Style in August of 2005.  After many positive reactions to the Southlake Style business plan they decided to bring the idea to life.  The first issue of Southlake Style was published in March of 2006 and promptly received the honor of Southlake’s Small Business of the Year for 2006.

Mike is a self professed entrepreneur with over 10 years of sales, marketing and business consulting experience primarily within the pharmaceutical industry. 

Nicole is known best for her care free smile and friendly demeanor which made her an outstanding success during her 10 year advertising sales career.  She formed the solid foundation for Southlake Style’s success in 2005 when she left her career as a top flight print and online advertising sales representative in order to manage Southlake Style’s rapid growth.

Mike and Nicole were both born and raised in New York, and met in college.  Mike holds a bachelor’s of science degree in biotechnology and an MBA in marketing from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.  Nicole holds a bachelor’s of science degree in business marketing also from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

In 2004, they moved to Texas to pursue their careers and the high quality of life characteristic of the DFW area.  Mike and Nicole currently reside in Southlake’s Timarron with their two daughters.

When they are not spending time with their young family- Mike enjoys playing sports, photography and riding his motorcycle while Nicole enjoys exercising, yoga, cooking and reading.

Brad McCollum – “Golf Tips”

Brad McCollum, P.G.A. Head Golf Professional. Brad is a graduate of the University of Florida and has an extensive knowledge of the game of golf as a previous professional golfer and highly-skilled player. A P.G.A. Member since 1996, Brad offers Southlake Style readers and Timarron CC members extensive knowledge in golf tournaments, merchandising, promotion, member service and instruction. His hands-on approach is clearly evident on the course as well as in his “Golf Tips" department. 

David Faltys, Ed.D. – “CISD News”
Carroll Independent School District Superintendent
David Faltys has served as the superintendent of the Carroll ISD January 3, 2006. He has quickly gained the admiration, trust and respect of the entire community.  David is a former classroom teacher, high school principal and assistant superintendent in Navasota. David is a graduate of Texas A&M University and recently earned his doctorate degree.
He currently resides in CISD with his wife, Jennifer, and four children.

Meet the Zimmerman’s, funky Fort Worth designer meets Hoosier hard rocker.  Sound like a rule-breaking match?  But, the first rule of love (and style) is that there are no rules. That’s quite possibly what makes them truly inspired.

Local design powerhouse Jami Zimmerman pursued a Journalism/Public Relations from University of Texas.  A creative force with an uncanny ability to elicit personal style, she has been providing visual interpretation of individuality in the form of home décor for over 7 years.

Bob Zimmerman has first-hand experience in living life by blending styles. After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University, he worked in carpentry while pursuing his dream as a lead singer in a rock ‘n roll band.  Bob brought his edgy experience to Cheap Thrills Décor in 2004.

Cheap Thrills Décor was founded in 2001 when a shopping fetish turned into a business and is now one of the fastest growing design firms and décor sources in the Metroplex.

Mike Mills, CFS – “Wealth Management”

Since 1999 Mike has acted as the managing principal of Mike Mills Wealth Management.  Mike Mills has been in the investment industry for 8 years and is a member of the Financial Planning Association, (FPA) and is an endorsed representative of the Texas Medical Association Insurance Trust Financial Services, Inc. an organization dedicated to helping Physicians protect and grow wealth. 

Mike is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and a retired Air Force Officer. Mike had a short lived military career due to a severe accident that nearly cost him his life.  Mike’s near death experience has given him a passion for making sure that his client’s financial plans are designed to succeed under all circumstances and combat the onslaught wealth eroding factors that most plans face over time. Mike feels that it is his personal mission to design strategies that protect his client’s families, build liquidity, and grow client assets into multi-generational wealth.

Mike has appeared frequently in media.  He co-hosted a financial related radio show, appeared on cable TV, and has been published frequently on a variety of financial planning related topics in many different newspapers. 
Mike & his wife Sheri have been married for 6 years and they have 2 children Allison and Tyler Marie.  They live in Southlake, Texas.

Jason Lind, MBA – “Wealth Management”

Jason Lind is a Wealth Manager for Mike Mills Wealth Management and serves as the firms para-planner.  Jason has been with the firm for 4 years and is responsible for client communications, key account service, and financial planning design.  Jason is a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee and is instrumental in developing the firm’s tactical investment decisions.  

Jason graduated in 1997 from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Management. He then earned his MBA with concentrations in finance and management information systems from Auburn University in 2000. Jason specializes in retirement planning, investment services and individual protection services for high income professionals and business owners.  Jason is active in the Southlake Chamber and lives in Euless, Texas.

Michael Burns & Carita Weaver – “What's on the Web?”

Michael Burns and Carita Weaver are founding partners at Southlake based i5 WebWorks a website design and re-design business established in 2001.  As the Southlake Chamber’s 2005 Small business of the year i5 specializes in e-commerce, e-learning and search engine optimization.  Both Michael and Carita have lived in Southlake for over a decade and each has played an integral role in building much of the local "web-based" real estate.
