Top Docs Nomination!

This July 2017, Southlake Style and Flower Mound Style magazines will publish our annual Top Docs list. This is a high profile nomination-based project where we ask Northeast Tarrant and Denton County area physicians who they would trust to care for their family and friends.

Once complete, the list will become a service to our 100,000+ readers by giving them an expert’s perspective regarding the top doctors in over thirty specialty areas. The list is intended to allow patients to see and celebrate their doctors who make the list. It also gives healthcare seekers a place to see doctors highlighted for achievement and reputation and can be a great tool for finding the right doctors for their needs.

Additionally, it can be a great tool for doctors to make the community aware of their specific specialties and areas of expertise.

To complete this nomination project, Southlake Style will conduct nominations using an online ballot for collecting, vetting, and tallying nominations.

Who is eligible to make the list?

Only licensed Doctors practicing in the cities of Southlake and Flower Mound and surrounding cities including; Keller, Colleyville, Roanoke, Trophy Club, Westlake, Grapevine, Irving, or Bedford, are allowed to vote or to make the list. We also do our best to ensure candidates do not have disciplinary action filed with the state.

How are nominations obtained?

Southlake Style and Flower Mound Style magazines will reach out to major hospitals and clinics, encouraging them to distribute the ballot to their associated physicians. We will also reach out to many doctors directly, through an email campaign linking them directly to our online ballot for nominations  Finally, we will conduct phone calling for many smaller practices, in order to reach as many physicians as possible and produce the most respectable list possible. Our contact database of Tarrant County and Denton County physicians is extensive, but not comprehensive. We encourage area doctors who want to ensure they are in our system to send an email to so that we can add their information as needed.

What information is required to make a nomination?

Doctors are required to provide a valid, active license number, and basic contact information identifying themselves. This helps with fairness in the voting process by ensuring each of the Doctors complete only one ballot. The final results are aggregated, so Doctors' ballot choices remain confidential.

What happens once nominations are received?

Southlake Style will reviews each individual ballot to ensure fair nomination, isolating and potentially eliminating invalid ballots, ballots suspected of block voting (i.e. identical voting patterns across multiple ballots), duplicate voting, or other issues. After vetting, Southlake Style will reach out to congratulate each physician on an individual basis.

How are the practice areas determined?

Although the categories are very broad, they are intended to reflect relevant practice areas in the region. We recognize that there are many specialty areas, but cannot accommodate them all. If there is a strong and consistent request for additional practice areas, they will be considered for possible inclusion in future programs.

What happens after the winners are selected?

The final list of winners will be published respectively in the July 2017 editions of both Southlake Style and Flower Mound Style magazines.

Final Note

We recognize that there will be many good doctors who are not shown in this representative list. This is only a sampling of the huge array of talented professionals in the healthcare field within Southlake and surrounding areas. Inclusion of a physician in the list is based on the opinions of his or her fellow doctors. We take time and energy to ensure fair voting and believe that the results of this survey nomination are a good indicator, if not an objective metric, of useful and effective doctors within the community. However, we certainly do not discount the fact that many, many good and effective doctors may not appear on the list.
