Ryan Gentry, Carroll Senior High School
Carroll senior Ryan Gentry graduated Magna Cum Laude as an AP Scholar with Distinction, is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and member of National Honor Society.  A member of the Dragon Varsity Football and Baseball teams, Ryan was selected to the 1st Team All-District in football, a 1st District Wide Receiver, and named to the 1st Team Academic All-State Football team.  In the fall Ryan will attend the University of Texas where he will major in Aerospace Engineering in the Engineering Honors program.

Tyler Springer, Westlake Academy
Tyler Springer, a member of the first graduating class of Westlake Academy, has received a scholarship to attend Southern Methodist University in the fall.  The vice president of National Honor Society, president of the Student Council, and president of the Rotary Interact Club, Tyler also helped found the Young Republicans of North Tarrant County where he served as president.  A published author and business manager of the award winning Black Cow newspaper, Tyler earned honors from the Interscholastic League Press Conference for entertainment features he wrote.  Tyler was also a member of the Westlake Academy tennis, soccer and golf teams.

Emily Avila, Carroll Senior High School
Recent CSHS graduate, Emily Avila, is a recipient of numerous scholarships including Southlake Newcomers’ Club, Southlake Women’s Club and the Southlake Rotary Club.  Emily, a Carroll Green Jacket, was also the Varsity Dragon Mascot, member of National Honor Society, Latin Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, and Success Scholar.  A four year varsity choir member, Emily recently travelled to Paris with the Carroll Choir and will major in Music Education at Oklahoma State University where she was selected as a member of the Cowboy Singers Chorus.

Jeff Baran, Carroll Senior High School
Carroll senior Jeff Baran was selected as the Mark Jameson Allstate Scholar Athlete for the Month of March.  Jeff played on the Dragons’ varsity basketball team and served as captain during his senior year. Baran is a member of the National Honor Society and received Academic All-District for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons.

Abby Miller, Carroll Senior High School
Abby Miller, a junior at CSHS, has been chosen to serve at the state government conference at Trinity University this summer and was recently elected as the CSHS Student Council President for 2010-2011.  She also attended the Hugh O’Brian Leadership Conference and received a HOBY Outstanding All-Star Award.  Starting a horseback riding business at the age of 13, Abby now has over thirty students and has earned numerous roping event awards at rodeos.  A member of White’s Chapel Methodist Church, Abby is also involved with Rachel’s Challenge, Meals on Wheels and was recently selected as a Carroll Green Jacket.

Amy Keller, Carroll Senior High School
A junior at CSHS, Amy Keller was recently selected to perform in the Crossmen, part of the prestigious Drum Corp International, as Southlake’s first member of the color guard.  Previously selected as the first junior captain of the Carroll Color Guard, Amy will again be captain during her senior year.  She has completed advanced placement courses in preparation for college where she plans to study pediatric nursing and anesthesiology.  Amy is an active member of White’s Chapel and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Kathy Prado, Carroll High School
Kathy Prado was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Honor Society of High School Scholars. Prado, who joined CISD in 1995, teaches European AP, World History AP, Shakespeare, and is also the Social Studies Department Chair. At the end of this year, she will complete her 30th year in education.  The Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction award recognizes teacher role models who have made a lasting difference in their classroom by encouraging students to strive to excellence.

Lindsay Lipschultz, Durham Elementary
Fourth grader, Lindsay Lipschultz, won the highest honors in this year’s WordMasters Challenge. The competition is a national language arts competition entered by approximately 220,000 students annually. It consists of three separate meets held at intervals during the school year.  WordMasters Challenge is an exercise in critical thinking. It encourages students to become familiar with a set of interesting new words (higher than their grade level) and then challenges them to use those words to complete analogies expressing various kinds of logical relationships.

Teri Morrison, Carroll Lady Dragons Basketball Coach
Teri Morrison has earned a prestigious national honor. Morrison was chosen head coach for the 2010 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association High School All-America Game. The game will be held on Saturday, April 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Final Four.  Morrison will coach the Red team, which includes two players from Texas.  Joining CISD as the Women’s Athletic Coordinator and Head Basketball coach just one year ago, Coach Morrison brings 28 years of coaching and education experience to her students.

Jack Kresky, Eubanks Intermediate School
Jack Kresky, a sixth grader at Eubanks Intermediate School recently earned his Eagle Scout Award during a Court of Honor ceremony.  Jack is an assistant senior patrol leader in Troop 928, has earned 53 merit badges, held a variety of leadership positions and led a team of 30 scouts and adults on his Eagle Scout project, totaling over 200 hours of community service. His project included the placement of over 750 storm drain placards on storm drain inlets throughout Southlake with the goal of reducing or eliminating dumping of hazardous waste in the local streams and lakes.

Kody Weaver, Carroll Senior High School
Carroll senior Kody Weaver, a 2 year All District Offensive Lineman (first team in 2009, 2nd team in 2008), Captain of the varsity Dragon Football team, and Academic All State for football, recently led a group of four Dragon wrestlers at the UIL 5A state meet. He became the first Carroll wrestler to earn a medal at state, finishing third in the 285-pound division. Kody also attended Boys State, May 2009, is a Habitat of Humanity volunteer, and has earned a football scholarship to Amhearst College.

West Hardin, Carroll Senior High School
West Hardin, a CSHS senior, has been a standout as this year’s Captain of the award winning Emerald Belles and was recently named a Top 14 Solo Finalist at ShowMaker’s State Competition at Texas State University in San Marcos.  West is also a four year varsity athlete in track and her academic achievements include a GPA in the top-10 percent of her class.  West has been accepted into the business programs at both the University of Texas and the University of Georgia.

Bryce Klein, Carroll High School
Bryce, a freshman, is taking Carroll Boys Diving to new heights.  He has already broken pool diving records for Lewisville ISD, Mansfield ISD and Carroll ISD. He was the first freshman to win the North TISCA meet, holds our district 5A title, and trained this school year at the USA Olympic training center in Indiana. He also placed second in Regional competition and will compete for the State title.   Academically, Bryce holds a 95 GPA.

John & Rhonda Schock, Southlake Executive Forum, Southlake Newcomers’ Club
Married nearly 25 years, this dynamic couple and parents of three truly love giving back to the community and do so in a variety of ways.  Currently, Rhonda is Co-President of Southlake Newcomers’ Club and has actively worked on the club’s 3rd annual Visions of Vegas: Playing for Others, while John is heavily involved as a board member and Membership Chairman of the Southlake Executive Forum.  Active in Good Shepherd Catholic Community, John as an usher, Rhonda in the choir, they also are active in the Nolan Catholic Band Boosters.

Dillon Huff, Carroll Senior High School
Dillon Huff, a CSHS senior and son of Warren and Winnie Huff leads the nation in public speaking points awarded by Extemp Central National Points Race. Many prestigious high school speech teams across the country participate in the competition. Huff's win at the Montgomery Bell Academy Round Robin in January awarded him enough points to maintain his position as the national leader. With Dillon’s leadership, Carroll High School is the top ranked team in the nation.

Hannah Brown, Carroll Senior High School
Hannah Brown, a CSHS senior and daughter of Michael and Leeanne Brown has been a standout in the classroom and athletics at Carroll. This four-year varsity athlete in cross country and track also played club soccer at the national level for seven years. In the classroom, she ranks number one in a class of 651 and has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar, National AP Scholar and a Wendy's High School Heisman Winner. Hannah also spends time as a member of the Carroll Medical Academy, National Charity League and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Dana Faris, Carroll Senior High School
Dana Faris, a CSHS senior and daughter of Bill and Gina Faris was a stand-out performer as “Judy Haynes” in the Carroll Theatre Department’s production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Dana is also a member of the 2009-2010 Carroll Dragon Green Jackets, an All-State member of the Dragon Choir and President of the Thespian Board. Dana will continue her role in Carroll’s Theatre Department with a lead role in The Elephant Man- one of this year’s one act plays.

Gail Santora, Greater Southlake Women’s Society
As the 2009 Festival of Trees Chairperson, this relative Southlake newcomer jumped right in and became involved in her community. Through the position, Gail led the efforts of the largest fundraising event ever run by the Greater Southlake Women’s Society. Her leadership and efforts helped raise funds for 11local philanthropies, which will effect positive change in the lives of many in our community.
Sean Landers, Carroll Senior High School
Sean Landers, a first-team All-District 6-5A receiver on the football team, caught a team leading 67 passes – eight for scores. He was recently honored as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)- Tom Landry Male Athlete of the Year for 2009.  Sean, who is a FCA class president, is also an honor student, an outfielder for the Carroll Baseball team and a member of the Varsity Football Leadership Council.

Robert Williams, Southlake Kiwanis Club
Robert Williams, the founding President of the Southlake Kiwanis Club, plays a large role in our community. He is also the president of the Sports Boosters Association, a member of the city’s Crime Control and Prevention District and, even more importantly, he played an integral role in the efforts to pass the $138 million dollar CISD bond proposal in 2009. As a past graduate of Carroll Leadership Academy for Supporting Success (CLASS), Williams was honored in December with the Cheryl Shankman Memorial Award for his commitment to the community.

Judge Brad Bradley, Bradley Luce Bradley, LLP
Partner at the Southlake Law Firm of Bradley Luce Bradley LLP, Judge Bradley has been an instrumental leader in numerous Southlake organizations. A founding member of Southlake’s Executive Forum, the Carroll Education Foundation and the Pro Players Foundation to name a few, Judge Bradley’s expertise in the formation of non-profit foundations have helped thousands of local residents each year.

Carolyn Morris, Southlake City Councilmember
Dr. Carolyn Morris has been actively involved in her neighborhood and community. As a member of Southlake’s City Council since 2002, she has served on multiple task forces and special projects including the Southlake 2025 plan. As the Coordinator for the PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) Foundation-North Texas Chapter she has been instrumental in the annual North Texas "Walk for PKD" held annually in Southlake Town Square. She also helps make Southlake a better place through the arts, as a member of the Executive Board of the APEX Arts League.

Stacy Carey, Physical Therapy Assistant, Carroll ISD
Stacy Carey is an inspiration.  By day she is Carroll ISD’s physical therapy assistant for special needs students. For the last eleven years, Stacy has worked tirelessly to build CISD’s Special Olympics program. As “Coach Stacy” she works her magic as Head of Delegation for the Carroll ISD Special Olympics team.  She takes charge and does it all from coaching athletes and training volunteers, to fundraising and handing out trophies at the year-end banquet.

Yvonne Miller, Battered Women’s Foundation (BWF)
Yvonne Miller, the Vice President of the Board for the Battered Women’s Foundation has devoted more than 4,000 hours of community service in the past decade. Yvonne started cooking lunch for the organization’s “Day to Shine” events in 2000 and has been helping ever since. Her positive attitude and encouragement to the foundation’s many benefactors have been instrumental in the success of so many of the BWF’s programs.

Trisha Murphy Rae, Christmas is for Children (CIFC)
Trisha Murphy Rae is the founder of Southlake based Christmas is for Children (CIFC), a volunteer in many others including her church and each of her children’s schools. Through her foundation’s efforts last year alone, 1,400 children throughout the Metroplex were able to experience a joyous holiday with their own individually wrapped gifts. CIFC’s Food Program followed suit by distributing another 1,000 holiday food baskets to needy families. By partnering with over 200 community volunteers and most CISD campuses this mother and foster mother to three children has really made a difference in her community!

Judy Sutherland, Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE)
Judy Sutherland, a past GRACE Holiday Volunteer of the year winner, has been a devoted GRACE Holiday volunteer through its Christmas Cottage program for over five years and is currently the organizer of their Stocking Stuffer program. Judy has been instrumental in the collecting and distribution of wonderful holiday stockings for over 500 kids each year. She has become a reliable and steady as GRACE has counted on her near daily efforts from November 5- January 15. She helps with the set-up, toy drives, volunteer groups and volunteering each day at the Christmas Cottage.

Austin Deters, Carroll High School
Austin, son of Bill and Jeane Deters, is a freshman at CHS and is very dedicated to scouting. This past August he was awarded the accomplishment of Eagle Scout from Troop 700. All Eagle Scouts must perform an Eagle Project and Austin’s was the refurbishing of The Sensory Garden at Rockenbaugh Elementary School. Austin invested over 90 hours into the Garden which now better compliments the surrounding school grounds while providing a multi-sensory experience for the students and faculty. In all, Austin has completed 325 different Eagle Scout requirements, has earned 29 merit badges all while serving in several troop leadership positions.

Cameron Brennan, Carroll Senior High School
Cameron, son of Kerry and Melanie Brennan, is a senior at CSHS was recently honored as a Green Jacket for the class of 2010. Cameron’s service to the community includes over 230 hours for such worthy causes as GRACE, the City of Southlake and the Southlake Women’s Club to name but a few. As a Dragon Varsity soccer player and National Honor Society Treasurer Cameron was a 6-5A Academic All-District Performer. He is also a member of the Math and Latin Honor Societies and has volunteered throughout his high school career tutoring his peers.


Keeley Lowery, Biology Teacher Carroll High School
Ms. Lowery is one of six finalists for the Texas Teacher of the Year. Lowery and two other secondary teachers will vie for the state’s top honor during personal interviews Sept. 12 with a panel of representatives from four of the state’s teacher associations. One of the three will be named Secondary Teacher of the Year along with one of three finalists that will be chosen as the Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year in late October.

Amy Moan, Carroll Senior High School
Amy Moan, a senior and Varsity Volleyball player at Carroll Senior High School has brought her sense of community spirit and hard work to the entire CISD. With her leadership the Lady Dragons Volleyball started a tradition of “Pink Out” games in support of Breast Cancer awareness. The “Pink Out” phenomenon has taken over as many of the boys and girls teams now has their own nights in support of finding a cure.
Matt Glenn, Lady Dragon’s Golf Coach, Carroll Senior High School,
Lady Dragon golf coach Matt Glenn was recently named Girls Golf Coach of the Year by the Dallas Morning News newspaper. He recently led the Lady Dragons to a state title as Carroll earned its second straight Class 5A team championship. It was Glenn's sixth overall state championship and his third in a just six season at Carroll. Prior to his days with Carroll, Matt’s teams won three 4A crowns at Snyder.

Lucia Xiong, 2009 Graduate Carroll Senior High School
Lucia Xiong, a 2009 graduate of Carroll, recently won the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing and represented Carroll well at the national awards ceremony. While a student and cross country runner at Carroll, Lucia wrote a computer application to help with Cross Country data analysis. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing encourages continued interest in computing, attracts the attention and support of educational and corporate institutions, and emphasizes the importance of women's participation in IT and computing.

Kathy Smith, Volunteer Mom Extraordinaire
Kathy Smith, mother of three (5th, 7th & 9th graders) is a mom on the go. An active PTO Mom since her oldest entered kindergarten, Kathy continues to volunteer for the Parent Teacher Organization for each of her children. Her gratitude towards the entire school district is exemplified by her enthusiasm and her “never say no” spirit.  Katherine gladly takes on multiple projects from landscaping at Durham Intermediate School to acting as the Chairperson for Hospitality at Carroll High School.
Curtis Green, President Southlake Kiwanis
Curtis Green, President of the Southlake Kiwanis Club and board member for Dragon Youth Football has donated countless hours to his community.  Through Kiwanis, Curtis has helped initiate several events benefiting local children.  Due to his efforts and those of his club, this past May’s 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K race raised over $22,000 to benefit the Ledbetter family, The Battered Women’s Foundation, Save a Smile and the Boys & Girls Club of Denton. His devotion to kids also extends onto the field where he coaches and helps maintain the many playing fields needed for Dragon Youth Football.
Katherine Lee, Carroll Senior High School
Katherine Lee, daughter of John and Myurg Lee, is a recent graduate in the class of 2009. Katherine has been a Dragon since the third grand and finished her student career with an outstanding GPA of 104.98. Ranking first out of 602 students, this bright young woman was honored as the class of 2009 Valedictorian. She will continue her studies at Harvard University where she will major in History and Literature.

Eric Wang, Carroll Senior High School
Eric Wang, son of Jeff and Katherine Wang, is a recent graduate in the class of 2009. Eric has been a Dragon since the third grand and finished his student career with a GPA of 103.93. Honored as the class of 2009 Salutatorian, Eric will continue his studies at nearby Rice University where he will major in Biomedical Engineering.

Carmen Evans, President Southlake Women’s Club
Carmen has been described by some as relentless in her pursuit of perfection. She has provided strong leadership during the past year to a club that contributes a great deal to the Southlake community. Carmen has held many roles in the club, including co-chairing Art in the Square last year, and prior to that she was involved in many of the committees it takes to pull off Art in the Square. Carmen takes her volunteer work very seriously, making a point to familiarize herself with every aspect of the many activities that the SWC runs. She is an inspiration to her peers, her community and all of those who have had the opportunity to work with her.

Sydney Capello, Carroll High School, Miss Teen Texas
Sydney, an AP/Honor Roll student at Carroll High School, has been giving for as long as she can remember.  As the reigning Miss Teen Texas she has performed over 3,000 hours of community service with such organizations as: God’s Country Kids, The American Cancer Society and The Komen Foundation.  An accomplished singer, she has performed in the acclaimed Girls4Life, for our troops through the USO and has even opened for The Jonas Brothers.  Sydney herself has overcome personal tragedy and now aims to inspire others through her positive platform:  “Be Better, Not Bitter”.

Lisa Quinn, Art in the Square Chairperson
Lisa’s amazing organization as the 2009 Chair of Art in the Square was so impressive that she is being elevated to President of the Southlake Women's Club next year. Despite the current economic conditions, Lisa ran one of the most successful art festivals in the ten-year history of the event. Lisa has held numerous roles in the Southlake Women’s Club and always has a smile on her face. Her dedication and tenacity are hard to find, but it is these characteristics that make the Southlake Women's Club so successful in raising funds for their many beneficiaries.

Emily Trammel, Art Teacher, Durham Intermediate School
An alumnus of Carroll High School and the University of North Texas, Emily Trammel is considered by many of her peers as “the most creative art teacher they have observed in my many years.”  She constantly motivates, encourages and praises her students to perform their best.  The results are found in students who are proud to have their artwork displayed in the halls of DIS. 

Mark Guilbert, Proprietor, Chik-fil-A Southlake
Mark Guilbert is the reason Southlake “Eats More Chikn”.  As the owner and operator of Southlake’s Chik-fil-a Mark has shown there is more to business than just making money.  Besides feeding the community by supporting many civic and school related functions, Mark also supports the city through his work as an Executive Board Member with the Southlake Chamber of Commerce.  In recognition for his community service, Mark was recently honored as the Chamber of Commerce’s Director of the Year.

Shannon Shankman, Carroll Senior High School
Shannon, a Junior and Member the Southlake Chamber of Commerce and the National Honor Society was recently named the co-Southlake Youth of the Year for 2008.  This young woman has; coordinated clothing and food drives, logged over 250 volunteer hours at Baylor Regional Medical Center and has attended the Lone Star Youth Leadership Academy every year since 2005.  She has received numerous awards including; Texas Senate and US House of Representative Recognition for community service, Colleyville Women’s Club Circle of Hope (twice) and recognition for her work in Chemistry, Science Fiction and Poetry.  Above all, she teaches music theory and piano with her twin sister at their very own International Music Academy.

Ashley Lowe, Carroll Senior High School
Ashley, a Senior and National Honor Society member was recently named the co-Southlake Youth of the Year for 2008.  The Student Council Senator organized; the Homecoming Carnival, initiated Southlake’s first Independence Weekend which raised $32,000 for injured veterans, an annual blood drive that collects close to 300 pints per year and “Cookies for Cooks” a fundraiser benefitting Cooks Children’s Medical Center.  Ashley also enjoys tutoring middle and high school students and volunteering at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Stephen McPeek, Carroll Senior High School
Stephen McPeek, a junior on the CHS wrestling team, brought home Carroll’s second state championship in as many years when he won the 171-pound division at the District 10 meet this past February.  McPeek has placed in state competition in each year of his high school career and finished his state championship run a perfect 41-0.  He looks to take his wresting success to this year’s Junior Nationals and ultimately the 2012 Olympics.

Amanda Presmyk, Carroll Senior High School
Amanda Presmyk, daughter of Chris and Vikki Presmyk is a junior at Carroll High School and dedicated to serving her school.  Amanda is currently her school’s Student Council executive officer and will be the 2009-10 Student Body President.  This active Girl Scout is also a member of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars.  She plays saxophone in both the marching and concert bands and is very involved in local charitable organizations.

Devyn Grathwohl, Carroll Senior High School
Devyn Grathwohl, daughter of Adrienne and Richard Grathwohl, is the Captain of the Carroll Senior High School Colorguard.  As the past choreographer, co-captain and now captain, Devyn is the longest trained member of the team. Devyn has perfected her flag, rifle and saber routines and currently teaches at DJ’s dance Studio in Southlake.  Devyn is also a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society, and is involved in many other activities and events throughout school and the community.

Katie Unkle, Carroll High School 
Katie Unkle, daughter of Ben and Barbara Unkle is a freshman at Carroll High School.  Katie has taken the family’s special Chocolate Torte recipe and turned it into her own 501C-3 called “Cakes 4 A Cause”.  100% of the proceeds of her delicious Chocolate Tortes goes to support those with Autism, like her brother Ben, through the Autism Speaks foundation for a cure.  For more information or to order a Torte for local delivery visit, www.cakes4acause.com

Debbie Vinson, Community Volunteer

Debbie Vinson is a true ambassador of our community. In addition to serving as President of the Greater Southlake Women’s Club, Debbie is the Tournament Chairperson for the Metroport Meals On Wheels annual golf tournament and is a champion of the Rocky Top Therapy Center. She is also a founding member and serves on the board of the Republican Women’s Club, North Texas. Her generosity helps improve the lives of those in need and makes our community stronger.

Carolyn & Taylor Hryorchuk, Carroll Senior High School Dive Team
Carolyn & Taylor Hryorchuk, a mother-daughter team, have received local accolades. This season, Carolyn was honored as the District’s Girls Coach of the Year. After winning every meet this season, daughter, Taylor was recognized as the 2008-2009 District Champion and Diver of the Year. Taylor recently made her mark as Southlake’s first ever diver to attend the State meet. She will attend Florida Gulf Coast University on a diving scholarship.
 
John Thane, CISD Board of Trustees

John Thane, a financial planning specialist for the local offices of Smith Barney, is also a member of the Carroll ISD Board of Trustees (through 2010). John is a graduate of the Southlake Citizens Academy, a member of the Southlake Rotary Club, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas and the Southlake Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, John has helped spearhead the city-wide efforts for Rachel’s Challenge- whose mission is to bring kindness and compassion to the entire community. www.RachelsChallenge.com 

Ron Behrends, Head Band Director, Carroll Senior High School
For over 30 years Ron Behrends has been teaching band in Southlake. This year, he watched as impressive, new records were set at the recent UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest. His Dragon Band earned a total of 254 first division medals and qualified 63 solo and 145 ensemble members to the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. The state competition will be held in Austin May 30.

Sabrina Romero, daughter of Sandy and Richard Romero, is a junior at Carroll Senior High School and a member of the Class of 2010.  In January Sabrina, a first soprano, was awarded All-State Choir honors along with three other Dragon Choir members. In the same month, Sabrina wowed audiences as Maria, the leading role in the Carroll Theatre Department’s staging of The Sound of Music.  

Ryan Dickey, Carroll Senior High School
Ryan Dickey, son of Karen and Russell Dickey, is a senior at Carroll Senior High School and a member of the Class of 2009.  Ryan, a recent All-State band selection and National Honor Society student enjoys using his musical talents on the piano for the betterment of the community. Ryan has a long list of accomplishments including past recipient of Southlake’s Youth of the Year and the 2007-2008 CISD Community Service Award.

Shana Yelverton, City of Southlake, City Manager
Shana Yelverton has been a City employee since 1993 and has served as Southlake’s City Manager since January of 2005.  As the City’s chief administrative officer she oversees an annual budget of more than $66 million dollars.  She has worked tirelessly with the City Council to reorganize the City’s departments to ensure the finest in resident customer service. Shana’s vision for achieving the Council’s goals with innovative and financially sound spending plans has helped the Southlake prosper, grow and meet the expectations of both residents and businesses., Chairperson Extraordinaire

Maureen Fallon
Maureen Fallon has recently served the community as the chairperson of not one, but two very successful charitable organizations. As the food drive coordinator for Christmas is for Children she helped organize the collection and distribution of over 1,000 food baskets for area families in need. Not to be outdone, she also co-chaired the Dragon Classic whose proceeds helped fund excellence in education by meeting special program requests of 75 CISD teachers.

Casey Lewis , Carroll Senior High School
Casey Lewis, daughter of Jeffrey and Carla Lewis, is a Dragon student athlete and is a member of the Class of 2009.  Casey, a 5’8” Forward on the varsity Lady Dragon basketball team is also a member of the National Honor Society Senate and National Spanish Honor Society.  As one of only three seniors on the team, her leadership is invaluable especially on defense where she is amongst the team leaders in both steals (3 per game) and rebounds (6 per game).

Bryan Campanello , Carroll Senior High School
Bryan Campanello, son of Laura and Johnny Campanello is an outstanding member of the Carroll Debate team.  He recently placed second at the Yale Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament. More than 1,000 contestants from 15 states and Canada, participated in this prestigious tournament.  Bryan earned a second place finish amongst 104 total entrants in the Student Congressional Debate. Bryan continues to add top-place finishes to his award collection. 

Sarah & Jonathan Chiang , Carroll Elementary School/Eubanks Intermediate School
Carroll siblings Jonathan (7) and Sarah Chiang (11) recently competed in the World Youth Chess Championship tournament in Vietnam from October 17 to November 1.  Jonathan finished in fifth place in the under eight division and Sarah placed 13th (tied for 11th) in the under twelve division.  For more information about the results, visit http://wycc2008.vietnamchess.com/index.php

Christine Cerone , PharmD., is a Clinical Pharmacist at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine and has been a faithful volunteer at the GRACE Outreach to Health Community Clinic for over seven years. Christine is vital to the Grace Clinic’s implementation of proper processes for medication management, recruiting and scheduling the volunteer pharmacist team, and individual patient education during the regular evening clinics. Christine's involvement makes it possible for the GRACE Clinic to provide quality healthcare to people in our community who otherwise may not have access to healthcare.
