Spine Team Texas
David Rothbart, M.D., FAANS, FACS
“It is a gratifying feeling to know that you have helped a person resolve a very painful episode in their life.”
WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON ISSUES YOU SEE WALK THROUGH THE DOORS?
Low back pain is extremely common. It is estimated that 85% of all adults experience back pain at some point.
WHAT MAKES THE APPROACH AT SPINE TEAM TEXAS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PRACTICES?
The treatment of back pain typically takes a siloed approach where a patient might see multiple health care providers without much communication amongst them. We take an approach where we have all medical sub-specialists and treatment options in one setting to allow for comprehensive management.
WHAT’S IT LIKE TO WATCH SOMEONE FINALLY FIND RELIEF FROM BACK PAIN?
This is the reason I love my job. It is the most gratifying feeling to know that you have helped a person resolve a very painful episode in their life.
WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH TO HELPING PATIENTS WHO ARE NERVOUS ABOUT INJECTIONS OR SURGERY?
We have a philosophy of trying to get patients better without surgery. If surgery is required, we utilize a minimally invasive approach in the vast majority of our patients. Less than 10% of patients require surgery and we have patient satisfaction scores of 96%.
