Women hold about 11% of construction jobs in the United States, and far fewer sit in the owner's seat. Carol Horton is one of them. Carol founded Lily Grace Homes to build homes for how people actually live, and brings her eye for design and attention to detail to every home. She builds spec and custom homes in Southlake, Roanoke and surrounding communities.
Two years in, Carol earned the 2026 Builder of the Year award from the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association, where she serves on the board of directors. A women’s champion in the industry, she volunteers with programs like Women Building America camps and is an active member of the Professional Women in Building Council.
