Bruce Bochy, a four-time World Series-winning manager, will be remembered in Texas for delivering the Rangers’ first championship and inspiring a generation of players.
Bruce Bochy’s chapter in Texas baseball has come to a close.
This week, the Texas Rangers and veteran manager Bruce Bochy announced they will mutually part ways at the conclusion of the 2025 season.
While the decision comes on the heels of an underwhelming stretch — with back-to-back seasons missing the postseason — it can’t overshadow what Bochy achieved when he first arrived. In 2023, he led the Rangers to their first-ever World Series title, a landmark moment in franchise history. That championship win gave Bochy four in his managerial career, placing him among a rarefied group of managers with four rings.
Over three seasons in Texas, Bochy went 249–237 in regular-season play. The Rangers have extended an offer for him to stay on in a front-office advisory role, though it’s not yet clear whether he’ll accept or seek the next chapter elsewhere.
As the 2026 season looms, the Rangers face the task of selecting a new leader to guide their roster. But for now, Bochy’s legacy in Texas will forever be bookended by that magical postseason run — the moment he delivered on the long-awaited dream for fans across the state.
