Shoppers at Southlake Town Square can expect some updates at one of its most popular tech destinations this summer, as renovation plans have officially been filed for the Apple Store.
According to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the project — titled Apple Southlake Town Square Forum Modernization — is slated to begin June 17, 2026, with an anticipated completion date of Aug. 27, 2026. The estimated cost of the renovation is $589,000.
The project is described as a “minor remodel” of the existing 2,500-square-foot tenant space, with no changes to occupancy, tenant, or overall square footage. Instead, the work will focus on interior updates, including modifications to non-structural partitions, furniture upgrades, and related HVAC and electrical improvements.
While the filing does not specify design details, the “Forum Modernization” language suggests updates to align the store with Apple Inc.’s latest retail concepts. In recent years, Apple has rolled out refreshed store formats across the country, emphasizing open layouts, flexible gathering spaces, and enhanced areas for its 'Today at Apple' programming.
The renovation is privately funded by the tenant and will take place within the existing storefront at 260 Grand Avenue. Property owner KRG Grand Avenue II LLC is listed on the filing, with MBH Architects serving as the project’s design firm.
For local customers, the timing raises the question of whether the store will remain open during construction. The filing does not indicate any planned closure, though Apple has historically phased renovations to minimize disruptions when possible.
The Southlake location has long served as a hub for North Texas customers seeking hands-on product experiences, technical support, and workshops. Any updates aimed at modernizing the space could further enhance its role as a community gathering point within Town Square.
More details — including potential temporary closures or phased construction timelines — have not yet been announced.
