GameDay, owned by The Gift Store team, is closing its storefront. The sports-themed retailer started their liquidation process on Tuesday, February 5 with a vast array of sales. Owner Jamie Baker says there is no set closing date yet, but they will begin clearing out a majority of their Dragon products or integrating them back in The Gift Store’s merchandise.
Baker says there are a variety of reasons behind this decision, but one of the biggest was limited traffic during football’s offseason.
“We love to support the other sports, but we just don’t get the continuous traffic like in the fall,” Baker says.
GameDay will retain its online presence, and Baker says their team will continue to offer Dragon products in the store – just on a much smaller scale.
“I would like our shoppers to know we are so grateful for their support, and we plan to continue to serve their needs in any way we can,” Baker says. “Just because we don’t carry it in store, does not mean it’s not available.”
