On Jan. 9, retail giant Macy's announced the closure of 64 national locations in 2025 -- and the list includes the store in Southlake's Town Square.
The Southlake location will be one of six Macy's shuttered in Texas this year, and one of four from the Metroplex; stores in Flower Mound, Fort Worth and Plano are also being closed, per the company press release.
"Macy's Southlake Town Square is closing. You can visit us nearby at Macy's NorthPark Center [in Dallas] or use our store locator to find other locations near Southlake," reads a note on the Macy's website. "Thank you for being a valued Macy's customer."
The closures are part of what officials are calling Macy's "bold new chapter," which lays out a plan to "return the company to sustainable, profitable sales growth" by closing approximately 150 locations over a three-year period.
"We are closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go–forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service,” said Tony Spring, chairman and chief executive officer of Macy’s, Inc., via a press release.
