While Traci Schwomeyer is lucky enough to do what she loves taking photos for Metroplex Head Shots, she recognizes that millions are unemployed thanks to a global pandemic. That’s why she wanted to help by volunteering to take professional headshots for free for unemployed residents who are looking for a job.
On Wednesday, July 22, the photography company Headshot Booker undertook a gigantic single-day photo initiative where they gave over 10,000 unemployed Americans professional headshots for free. Traci says people who include headshots on their LinkedIn accounts receive 21 times more profile views and nine times more connection requests, and she wanted to help people just like 200 other photographers were across all 50 states.
“Our community, like so many others, was hit hard by COVID-19, and we were looking for ways to help our neighbors get back on their feet,” Traci says in a media release. “I heard about what Headshot Booker was doing across the country and wanted to be a part of it.”
Traci has provided professional headshots and portraits for the area since opening her studio in 2019, winning in Southlake Style’s photography category for Readers Choice 2020. To learn more about Metroplex Head Shots, visit them at 280 Commerce St., Suite 161 or visit MetroplexHeadShots.com.
