A new dance academy recently opened in Roanoke that aims to stress the importance of health and self-care.
Founded by Emily Hunter and Rachel Wade, the North Texas Dance Arts Academy is a new daytime dance studio that offers first-rate dance instruction to students K-12. Emily says that in the world of dance, some young dancers self-sacrifice in their pursuit of success and create harmful habits in the process. But with the North Texas Dance Arts Academy, Emily hopes to change that mindset and inspire kids to focus on their mental and emotional health as much as their technique.
“We take very seriously the responsibility of not only teaching our students to become successful dancers and scholars but also of stewarding the holistic health and personal growth of these students,” Emily says. “We want our students to love learning, love dance and love themselves.”
North Texas Dance Arts Academy is open now at 1212 N. U.S. 377, Suite 105 in Roanoke. To learn more, donate or sign up, visit NorthTexasDanceArts.com.
