ShopCore Properties’ Park Village has donated $10,000 to the North Texas Food Bank to alleviate hunger in the community.
For more than 25 years, the North Texas Food Bank has purchased, distributed and donated food through more than 200 partner agencies in 13 countries. But the need for their services has been exacerbated since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year. After Park Village donated to the food bank last year, they were able to provide 105,000 meals to locals, according to a media release. This year’s $10,000 donation will help provide for 30,000 upcoming meals.
“Now more than ever, there is nothing greater than helping our neighbors in need,” Park Village owner Erin Devlin says in the media release. “At ShopCore, our corporate philanthropic initiative spotlights hunger, and the North Texas Food Bank is a necessary and vital resource for so many families struggling to put food on the table.”
The donation was made through ShopCore’s nonprofit the CoreGiving Foundation, which contributed to 27 food banks and provided more than four million meals to hungry children last year. According to the media release, CoreGiving aims to provide 7.5 million meals in 2021.
"As we navigate this unprecedented time, we will continue to do our part to help the hungry and hope it encourages others in the community to do the same,” Erin says in the release.
