GRACE has been working hard to answer the call for its community during the COVID-19 outbreak. Even after briefly closing in April due to safety concerns, the Grapevine nonprofit continued to distribute food packages through its drive-thru, filling its inventory thanks to the Tarrant Area Food Bank and other local resources.
Although GRACE officially reopened its doors earlier this month, it needs help restocking its shelf to meet the needs of the community. That’s why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking to help by hosting a food drive for GRACE this weekend.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, the Colleyville stake will accept food and personal care donations at its ward, located at 500 W. McDonwell School Road. Urgent needs for the nonprofit include saltine crackers, instant potatoes, jelly, chili, canned meat, fruits and vegetables, salt and pepper, ketchup, mayonnaise, juice boxes, spaghetti and sauce, feminine hygiene products, baby wipes and diapers, deodorant, laundry soap and, of course, toilet paper.
If you can’t make it to the food drive, GRACE is still accepting donations through its no-contact stations at 112 N. Scribner St. and online contributions through its pantry emergency box. If you would like to donate online or see how else you might help, visit GraceGrapevine.com.
