There was a new star on last night’s episode of “Real Housewives of Dallas,” and it wasn’t the fifth season’s latest housewife, Dr. Tiffany Moon. The Dallas ladies ventured over to Grapevine during their fourth episode with a plan to enjoy the city’s beloved wineries and shopping destinations. Cast member D’Andra Simmons coordinated the day trip to celebrate fellow housewife Brandi Redmond’s birthday.
“Grapevine is one of those places when you were growing up and you kind of wanted to get out of Dallas but you didn’t want to go too far,” D’Andra says during the episode. “You would spend the day going to the cute little shops and have a meal, and there’s also a pretty good donut shop there.”
So the women surprised Brandi with a party bus, dawning masks and face shields, and ventured west to Grapevine. After a festive drive over, scenic b-roll captured aspects of the city’s allure, like the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, rows of vines and, finally, the exterior of Delaney Vineyards, their first stop for the day. As the women walked into the visitors’ center, they were met by Delaney Vineyards’ event manager Pamela Garges and a glass of wine.
Drama immediately ensued as cast member Kary Brittingham called out the day’s hostess, D’Andra, for not informing Delaney that one of the women in attendance would not be drinking alcohol. After sidestepping the issue and ensuring the women it wouldn’t be a problem, Pamela began the day’s tour.
“We have 10 acres of grapes here, and what you are drinking actually comes here from this vineyard,” Pamela shares with the ladies on the episode as they walk past the vines. ”We have an abundance of color.”
The ladies then tasted a selection of the grapes.
“One grape had five seeds in it,” Brandi says during the episode.
“But there’s a ton of flavor,” Pamela responds.
After wrapping up their tour of the property, the women walked inside the vineyard's main event space, decorated with twinkling lights, barrels, platters of charcuterie and a promise of more vino. While the scenic atmosphere may have cooled the ladies off, the fighting heated up once the women found their seats.
Housewife Kameron Westcott tried to lighten the mood by complimenting the spread, but Kary quickly fired back, declaring Delaney Vineyards must be to thank for making the platter, not D’Andra.
While the hour-long episode ended prior to a further exploration into Grapevine, next week’s preview promises more Main Street antics — showing shots of the women continuing to fight at Delaney Vineyards, walk through various boutiques and, once again, fight, but this time on the sidewalks of Grapevine.
While some might see the arguments as catty, locals can rest assured the city’s inclusion ensures various area businesses are getting some attention thanks to the show’s global audience.
