Those hungry for the summer movie experience won’t be missing it for much longer. Thanks to Walmart, 14 Texas stores will start screening movies in their own parking lots starting on August 14.
According to a company media release, Walmart is holding a series of pop-up drive-in movie theater events across 160 locations in the country, including in Roanoke, Bedford and Irving. According to the media release, the Roanoke Walmart at 1228 N. U.S. Hwy. 377 will open its drive-in theater on September 1 and 2, while the Bedford store at 4101 Hwy. 121 will open on September 4 and 5. Irving will have two stores with a drive-in theater at 1635 Market Place Blvd. on October 6 and 7 and at 4100 W. Airport Freeway on October 9 and 10.
While movie titles haven’t been announced yet for individual events, Walmart did release the lineup that would be featured in its movie series, including “Wonder Woman,” “Spy Kids,” “Space Jam,” “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Wizard Of Oz,” “Black Panther,” “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” and “Friday Night Lights.” Tickets are free but will be required to reserve in advance.
