This year, Willhoite’s in Grapevine has a lot to celebrate. The buffet restaurant is celebrating 40 years in business on January 17. Though not its official birthday, Willhoite’s will celebrate with a birthday celebration on January 13 and will be offering a $4 lunch buffet, according to a press release.
“Willhoite’s may be turning 40, but we are proud to have stayed true to our roots – a fun, family restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. During the past 40 years, so many people have made memories here and celebrated momentous occasions, including reunions, anniversaries, weddings and in some cases, divorces,” co-owner Eric Parker says via press release. “Being an independent, family-owned restaurant during 2020 was certainly a challenge and we are very grateful to our loyal customers who continued to support us. We are proud to be one of the oldest businesses on Main Street and offer a glimpse into Grapevine’s history.”
Willhoite’s building originally opened as a dry goods store in 1914 before serving as a theater and an automotive station. The building was then purchased in 1980 and renovated into the restaurant it is today, according to a press release.
Willhoite’s Restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Sundays.
