After more than a year without the in-person event, residents will finally be able to celebrate Southlake online this year. Since 2017, the city of Southlake has organized the Celebrate Southlake event on Southlake Town Square to bring different people and their cultures together through food, music, entertainment and live performances. Last year’s event was originally scheduled for March 20 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down businesses and events across Texas.
This year, Celebrate Southlake will happen, albeit in a different format. Instead of an in-person celebration, the city has instead opted for a virtual event that will last the whole week from March 21-27, according to its website. While a schedule of events and activities has yet to be announced, live performances will take place on the city’s livestream and the Mayor’s Alliance for Unity and Culture will also sponsor an event for the celebration.
