Over 150 artists flocked to Southlake Town Square in the spring for the annual Art In The Square festival — and 26 local organizations benefited from the weekend filled with family fun and fine arts.
Thanks to all of the artists, sponsors, vendors, volunteers and patrons at the festival, this year’s Art In The Square successfully raised $170,000 for charities around the area, including GRACE Grapevine, the Me Squared Cancer Foundation and Metroport Meals On Wheels. Bethany Klein was named this year’s People’s Choice winner, while awards of distinction were given to Amos Amit, Scott Causey, Melissa Bossenbroek, Thomas, LeGault and Michael Cherepak. Scott Swezy, Ali Hasmut, Robert Varela, John Scanlan and Nobe Babayan all won jurors awards as well, while this year’s Youth Art winners had their work displayed in the lobby of the Methodist Southlake Medical Center.
"Art in the Square began as a community event to bring people together to help others in need,” marketing manager Sherri Whitt says. “For 24 years, it has made an impact on the lives of so many women, children, and families in Northeast Tarrant County.”
The next Art In The Square event will take place in late April of next year. For more information, visit ArtInTheSquare.com.
