Getbrready for a Prize Parade to top them all: the Carroll Education Foundationbr(CEF) is distributing a record 28 teaching grants in the amount of $100,000 onbrOctober 25. Members of the CEF board, CISD school board, top sponsors andbradministration will meet at the CISD administration building at 8:45 a.m. tobrkick off the traditional Prize Parade. Additionally, big checks will bebrpresented at each school, lead by the Carroll Dragon Drum Line.
Sincebrits inception in 1996, the CEF has awarded more than $1,345,000 in grantbrfunding. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose sole purposebris to enrich, expand and protect excellence in education by creating andbrdistributing resources for the benefit of the students of the CarrollbrIndependent School District. Only throughbrcash contributions and donations from the annual Culinary Celebration fundraiser,brFriends of CEF program and Community Partner events such as Dine for Dragons, bris the foundation able to distribute and award these important and much neededbrteaching grants.
Writingbra grant proposal is tedious and each teacher must identify a student need, researchbrvarious ways of fulfilling that need, come up with a creative grant approach, brdetermine all the costs involved with the implementation of the grant and organizebrall that data into a cohesive grant application. This takes an enormous amountbrof time and dedication. It is only fitting that we publicly recognize their commitmentbrto our children's education. By funding these grants, their innovative andbrcreative instructional approaches to teaching will become both a reality and anbrintegral part of their students' curriculum.
