Velvet paintings of Stevie Wonder and Elvis graced the walls of the first Chuy's way back in 1982. Founders Mike Young and John Zapp turned a BBQ joint in Barton Springs (Austin, Texas) into a Mexican food restaurant.
The great thing about Chuy's eclectic atmosphere is that you won’t find those Stevie Wonder and Elvis masterpieces at any other location. Come for the food and stay for the fun—or vice versa. Their motto, “If you’ve seen one Chuy’s, you’ve seen one Chuy’s,” holds true for the new Southlake location, as well.
The Austin-based restaurant opened on Jan. 20 at the southeast corner of Carroll Avenue and S.H. 114 in the Carroll Pointe development, Suite 100. Aside from the unique atmosphere, Chuy's is known for their authentic, affordable Tex-Mex fare—dishes are made to order from fresh ingredients.
With signature meals like the Chuychanga (a fried flour tortilla with chicken, cheese, cilantro and green chiles) and cold drinks such as Chuy's famous rita, the restaurant is an Austin staple Southlake residents can now enjoy.
Brooke Trevino, Owner/Operator of Chuy's Southlake looks forward to the restaurant debut in Southlake. “We're so excited to expand and bring Chuy's Tex-Mex to even more DFW residents.” This will be the eighth DFW location for the restaurant.
