Community Food Bank Chief Operations Officer Rudy Taylor says that no child should wake up hungry, especially during the holidays. That’s why the Fort Worth nonprofit is hosting a Thanksgiving food drive to feed those families in need.
From now until November 20, Community Food Bank is collecting non-perishable food items to put together over 6,000 grocery packages for families in need this Thanksgiving. Southlake DPS is contributing to the effort by opening drop-off points at its three facilities located at 600 State St., 100 E. Dove Road and 2100 W. Southlake Blvd. Accepted items include turkeys, canned vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. Volunteers are also needed to help assemble the packages before Thanksgiving.
