Personal finance website WalletHub released its findings of the top 23 cities for inflation, with Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington coming in at no. 14.
The Consumer Price Index -- a statistic that measures inflation -- in the Metroplex has increased .10% from October, and 1.9% from December 2023, per the report. DFW is the only metro in WalletHub's top 15 that has a CPI below 2% since December 2023. Houston is the only other Texas city on the list.
The top five cities for greatest inflation, per WalletHub:
1. New York - Newark - Jersey City
2. Atlanta
3. Honolulu
4. St. Louis
5. Los Angeles - Long Beach - Anaheim
The top ranked city of New York has a four-times higher inflation issue than Houston, the 23rd-ranked city on the list.
Dallas-Fort Worth is ranked higher in inflation than Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle and Tampa, to name a few. It is ranked as having a smaller inflation problem than cities such as Washington D.C., Denver, San Diego and Miami.
