For the first time in the nonprofit’s 40 year history, Denton County Friends of the Family will host its anniversary gala online this year. Founded in 1980 by Dr. Fran Danis, DCFOF provides shelter and outreach for victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Every year, its anniversary gala raises funds to support victims through its counseling and intervention services, and even though this year’s event won’t be in person, that doesn’t mean DCFOF still won’t make a difference.
To adjust to the pandemic, this year’s gala and auction will be hosted virtually from its website. On Monday, October 5, the online auction will open and will run until Friday, October 9.
After you purchase tickets, your selected meal and wine will be hand-delivered to your address ready for the event on Thursday, October 8. Then you can enjoy the night’s live and pre-recorded entertainment while indulging in your meal from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Even if you can’t virtually attend the gala, you can still support the organization by purchasing items from its Amazon donations list. Purchased items from it go directly toward the nonprofit and the victims who need them.
Tickets for the 40th anniversary virtual gala range between $25-175 and can be purchased on the nonprofit’s website. To learn more about DCFOF, call 940.783.6350 or visit DCFOF.org.
