Inventions team Brett Belleville and Eri Pilon
Three teams from EubanksbrIntermediate School competed at the annual TCEA Robotics competition inbrAlvarado on January 16. Two teams competed in the arena, and one teambrcompeted in the inventions category.
The inventions team, BrettbrBelleville and Eri Pilon, won first place and will advance to State in NewbrBraunfels on April 30. They presented their Helping Hand, a robotic hand usedbrto help those who have lost use of one of their lower arms either to amputation,brinjury or birth defect complete everyday tasks.
Both arena teams werebrstrong contenders against 100 plus other teams from the region. Theybrchanged their programs at the last minute to accommodate a surprise matbrchange just prior to competition and scored very high.
This is the first year thebrEubanks Intermediate School Robotics teams have competed, and they have alreadybrproven out of the gate to be a force to be reckoned with.
