Built following the citizen-approved 2017 bond election, Grapevine Animal Services will debut its new animal shelter on April 19, according to a Facebook post.
The new shelter will be three times the size of its former building at more than 13,500 square feet. Some of the features of the new shelter include double-sided housing for dogs and cats, covered outdoor areas, an outdoor courtyard and a veterinary space.
"We are thrilled to offer a shelter that is safe, loving and humane for the animals in need within our community,” Kristina Valentine, Grapevine Animal Services Manager, says via Facebook. “Our staff and volunteers have spent countless hours making sure that everything about the shelter, down to the fear-free color palette, was designed with the utmost care. We can't wait to welcome people and animals into Grapevine Animal Services.”
Following its opening on April 19, the shelter, located at 500 Shady Brook Drive in Grapevine, will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and closed on Sundays, according to a Facebook post.
