The Southlake FirebrDepartment just celebrated its golden anniversary. For 50 years, the firebrdepartment has been serving the City of Southlake, and on March 5, thebrcommunity came together to say thanks and to celebrate.
An Open House kicked offbrat 11 a.m. Saturday at the Southlake DPS Headquarters. There was plenty ofbrfamily fun for people of all ages: a bounce house, balloon artist, clowns, facebrpainting, station tours, extrication demonstration and vehicle displays. Thebrcrowd also enjoyed hot dogs, chips and drinks, and the first 100 kids receivedbra free t-shirt.
Additionally, Mayor Laura Hill proclaimed March 1, 2016 as the 50th anniversary for the fire department at the March 1 City Council meeting. Click here to read the complete proclamation.
