To those with green thumbs, a love of nature or who enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the city of Southlake has an event for you.
Dubbed the Treemendous Scavenger Hunt, the city is challenging citizens to find specific trees in various Southlake parks and take a selfie with it. Running until October 26, the scavenger hunt winners will receive a tree of their own.
Red oak trees, a blackjack oak tree and a pecan tree are among the trees that citizens need to find. The full list plus a map of all of the city’s parks can be found on the Southlake Parks website. Participants can send their selfies to TalkToUs@cityofsouthlake.com. Each email must contain only one selfie and include your address as only residents of Southlake can enter.
The contest will end at 11:59 p.m. on October 26, and winners will be announced on October 30 on the city’s Facebook page. The trees will be delivered to the winners on Nov. 6, which is Arbor Day.
