After initially announcing its cancellation, the 2020 State Fair of Texas is back on — this time in a drive-thru format, according to a press release.
This will be the first year in the 134-year history of the Fair that it will be a drive-thru. Guests will be able to enjoy everything from the fair food to the sights from the comfort of their car.
Tickets will be pre-sold in entry three windows starting on Sept. 2 — entry between 10 a.m to 1 p.m., entry between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. and entry between 5 and 5:45 p.m., according to a press release.
There will be ticket packages ranging from $25 to $99 that will allow guests to take a photo with Big Tex (who will wear a face mask), enjoy a number of concessions and receive a Midway prize, among other things, depending on the ticket package purchased.
The drive-thru State Fair of Texas will open on Sept. 19 and 20 and operate Fridays through Sundays, only taking a day off during the Red River Showdown football game between OU and UT on Oct. 10, according to a press release.
