Galleria Dallas
If the last six days of ice and being cooped up indoors have you desperate for a reason to leave the house, Galleria Dallas has you covered.
In celebration of Lunar New Year, the shopping center has unveiled a striking installation of more than 250 red lanterns suspended above its iconic ice skating rink — an instant mood lift after a long stretch of winter weather.
Celebrating the Year of the Horse, a symbol of energy and momentum, the lantern display adds bold color and cultural flair to Center Court and will remain on view through Feb. 28. Whether you’re skating, shopping or simply strolling, it’s a visual escape that feels festive without requiring a plane ticket.
Per a press release, the celebration culminates Feb. 21 with a live performance by the Jiu Long Lion Dance Troupe at 3 p.m. on Level 1 near Center Court. The 30-minute performance features a traditional lion dance accompanied by high-energy drumming, followed by an opportunity to see the elaborate costumes up close and snap photos with the ground lions.
Best of all, every part of the Lunar New Year celebration is free — making it an easy, colorful way to shake off the ice storm blues and ease back into winter adventures.
