Twelve years since its' inaugural day, Independent Bookstore Day is still going strong. This year, Grapevine's Talking Animals Books will host the all-day event.
Beginning at 10 a.m. April 26 -- the last Saturday in April, as has been the tradition since 2013 -- Talking Animals Books will have prizes, giveaways including tote bags, hats and limited-edition books, exclusive items for sale and a visit from Dallas’s Claire St. Amant, an investigative journalist and true crime producer who is also an author.
Belle from Beauty and the Beast will be in attendance at 10:30 a.m. for story time.
“Independent Bookstore Day is one of our favorite days," said Valerie Walizadeh, Talking Animals Books co-owner, in a press release. "It celebrates both the bookseller and the book buyer. We are so excited to have participated for the last two years and look forward to many more."
“Talking Animals Books participates in Indie Bookstore Day because we always have a really fun, lively vibe, and our visitors and guests love we are always up to something over here, and we’re looking forward to celebrating again,” added Katy Lemieux, co-owner.
Talking Animals Books is located at 103 W. Worth in Grapevine. For more information, visit talkinganimalsbooks.com.
