Southlake residents don't have to travel for to find a real fright this Halloween.
Just a short drive away, Fort Worth’s Cutting Edge Haunted House has been named the scariest Halloween attraction in the world by HauntWorld, which recently released its list of the 13 best haunted houses on Earth. Cutting Edge claimed the top spot, adding to a long list of accolades that already includes a Guinness World Record for the largest haunted house.
This legendary haunt is the full package: an immersive, multi-level journey through shadowy corridors, a nationally acclaimed zombie drumline (yes, really) and enough jump scares to shake even the bravest visitor. Thanks to its in-house actor training program, every ghoul you encounter knows exactly how to keep your heart racing.
Now open for the season, Cutting Edge runs through November 1 with tickets starting at $29.99 per person.
Looking for other haunted attractions? We've got you covered:
Grapevine Ghost Tour (Grapevine)
Not exactly a haunted house, but a ghost tour with local flavor — walking tours Friday and Saturday in Grapevine, with historic haunt stories built in. Great for a low-key spooky night.
Six Flags Fright Fest (Arlington)
The ultimate fall fright fest running through Nov. 2. Patrons can expect six terrifying haunted mazes — including new film-inspired horrors — five immersive scare zones, live entertainment and specialty food and drink. Plus, roller coasters!
Junkyard Haunted House (Fort Worth)
This Fort Worth haunt calls itself DFW’s scariest, with twisted metal, vengeful spirits, and 25,000 square feet of terror. Open weekends in October; $25 at the door (cash, Venmo, or Cash App only — no online ticketing).
Hangman’s House of Horrors (Fort Worth)
Set in an old military and helium plant site (mysteriously historic!), Hangman’s features a “main attraction” walk-through plus a horror-based interactive art exhibit. If you like your scares with a side of weird lore, this could be your jam.
J & F House of Terror (Garland)
A bit farther afield, but worth a drive if you’re doing a haunts crawl. J & F offers haunted maze-style madness, often featured in DFW haunt roundups.
Dark Hour Haunted House (Plano)
Close enough for a spooky night run. Dark Hour runs multiple sessions through early November, with a 30-minute walk-through and classic haunted house vibes.
Haunted Shadows Lake Trail (The Colony)
A trail-based haunt (think Blair Witch-style) along the woods and lake edges. If you prefer creepy forest walks over tight indoor mazes, this one’s for you.
Eerie Irving (Irving)
Irving’s municipal Parks & Rec puts on Eerie Irving, a family-friendly haunted walk combining enclosed and open-air scenes. Good for less intense chills.
