Brad Oldham Sculpture
For 25 years, Brad Oldham has been making carefully crafted metallic sculptures throughout the metroplex, whether it’s the iconic Traveling Man in Deep Ellum, the 6-foot-tall playful puppy in Keller or the 8-ton dragon sculpture in Kimball Park. Now, the Keller artist is teaming up with the Texas Rangers to celebrate both of their legacies together.
For the Rangers’ new season, Brad and his wife Christy collaborated on a new 25-piece series called “Baseball Forever.” Depicting a bronze baseball with the Texas Rangers logo on the front, the sculpture opens up to reveal a smaller sculpture called “Where Champions Live.” Commemorating the Rangers’ World Series Championship win last year, the miniature sculpture is a smaller version of Brad’s 41-foot-tall “The Traveling Man” statue on home plate wearing a Rangers cap and a baseball in his heart, symbolizing the Lone Star State’s deep love for the sport.
“We all have those moments in life that shape who we are, and for me, sports have always been a big part of that journey,” Brad says. “To have the opportunity to celebrate 25 years of creating public art and to collaborate with the Texas Rangers, a team who just reached the pinnacle of success as World Series champions, feels like my two worlds coming together in the most meaningful way. I hope ‘Baseball Forever’ resonates with fans as a symbol of the unity and passion that both art and sports inspire.”
All 25 statues are hidden throughout the metroplex, so be on the lookout during your next Rangers outing!
