Southlake’s Caroline Duncan (8) will be a featured artist in the Children’s Cancer Fund + NorthPark Center “Healing Works” exhibit. “Healing Works,” which will run from April 1 through 29 at NorthPark, is a four-week art experience that shares the stories of local children who have been touched by childhood cancer.
“The Dallas community is coming together to support this initiative with an outpouring of support,” says Children’s Cancer Fund Executive Director Jennifer Arthur via press release. “Everyone will want to come to NorthPark to see the magic created by the kids.”
Caroline was diagnosed with leukemia on her third birthday on January 22, 2016. After years of treatment, she graduated from the After the Cancer Experience, a childhood cancer survivor program, in April 2020. Caroline’s work of art features a bright pineapple boasting sunglasses, which is a nod to her family bringing back pineapples when they vacation in Hawaii. Each featured artist, including Caroline, received guidance from art and pet therapists to help create their final products.
