DeMarcus Ware, the career leader in sacks for the Dallas Cowboys (117), is on the ballot for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2023, according to a press release. The honor marks the second straight year he has been named a finalist since becoming eligible in 2022.
The former linebacker and gym owner, who lives in Southlake, is among 15 former modern-era standouts who were announced as finalists for the Hall's class of 2023. Ware, a member of the Super Bowl 50 Champion Denver Broncos, was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection who accounted for 138.5 sacks during 12 seasons in the NFL.
Fans can vote on who they predict will be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame through January 2023.
The slate of candidates in the Modern-Era Player category will be considered when the Hall of Fame’s selection committee meets virtually before Super Bowl LVII.
