By partnering with Glenview Professional Pharmacy, GRACE Grapevine will be offering COVID-19 vaccines at three of its Feed Our Kids sites throughout the summer.
“This is another way to reach a vulnerable population in our community,” GRACE’s clinic nurse manager Shirley Roberts says. “This also allows easier access to the COVID-19 vaccine near their homes.”
The nonprofit hosted the first clinic on June 8 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Grapevine Outreach Center. People 12 and older were able to register ahead of time to receive their first dose. Those under 18 had to have a parent with them in order to receive the vaccine.
“It was very exciting to see the children receive the COVID-19 vaccine with their parent,” Shirley says. “Every person who chooses to get vaccinated brings us all a step closer to moving past the COVID-19 pandemic. It was an honor to play a role in families’ decision to vaccinate.”
This clinic’s second shot will be offered on June 29 at the same location. GRACE will also offer two more vaccination opportunities. The first clinic will be at the GRACE Pantry and Clinic with the first shot given on June 15 and the second on July 6. The second clinic will be at 610 Shady Brook Drive with the first shot given on June 22 and the second on July 13.
Families who attend these clinics will also receive the food available from the day’s Feed Our Kids meal.
“By reaching out in the community, GRACE is doing [its] part to help make the path to vaccination shorter, easier and less stressful for them,” Shirley says.
