Scripps National Spelling Bee
When the Scripps National Spelling Bee begins at 7 p.m. tonight, a Keller sixth grader will be among those competing to be the spelling champion.
10-year-old Vivinsha Veduru, who attends Bear Creek Intermediate School, spelled her way to the National Spelling Bee during the semifinals, held remotely on June 27, according to a press release from Keller ISD.
After making it to the ninth round of the semifinals, Vivinsha was one of 15 spellers remaining. After four contestants were eliminated, she and the remaining spellers kept competing and eventually advanced to the finals.
"I am extremely honored and super excited to represent Keller at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando," Vivinsha says via press release.
On Thursday, July 8, Vivinsha will join 208 other spellers as they compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee finals. The event will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
