When the pandemic hit, Madison Lynch got the idea to sell her mom’s sweet treats to make a little extra money.
“My mom has the best cake pops and everyone who had tried them always raved about them, so we decided to give the people what they want,” she says.
So with a little persuasion, Madison and Alicia Lynch started Cake Pops by Alli a little over a year ago. With a strong social media presence and a delivery option, the bakery took off. It even won Southlake Style’s Readers’ Choice 2021’s bakery and desserts categories.
“It’s kind of funny now that we would think 20 and 30 orders was a lot,” Alicia says. “Now of course, we make over about 1,000 cake pops or more a week.”
Dividing up duties, Alicia does most of the baking and customer service while Madison takes the lead on their social media.
“The best part about working with my mom is watching how excited she gets when she makes cute pops, gets likes on her posts and when people enjoy the products we’re making,” Madison says.
For Alicia, she loves getting to work with her daughter.
“I love it,” she says. “We love that we get to share culinary experiences together. We love to go exotic restaurants as well as we love being in the kitchen and creating new flavors or a new design. It’s just so much fun to get to see her grow in her passion for the culinary arts.”
Madison echoes the sentiment.
“It’s really special that my mom and I work together. While I am my father’s child and act just like him, this is something special that my mom and I share,” Madison says. “I love to cook and bake just like my mom. It makes me happy when people enjoy something I make and I know that her and I share that same mindset which makes it so special to me.”
