After Alexis’ family moved to Southlake in 1996, she became friends with Riley Dodge. They even went on a field trip together to Camp Carter. They continued to stay close through their time at Carroll ISD.
“In high school, we used to double date, but we were both with other people,” Alexis laughs. “We did not start dating until junior year of college.”
After dating for two years, the couple wed in 2013. In 2018, Riley accepted the head football coach position at Carroll ISD and made Southlake his family’s home for good. Now the pair live in the area with their three children: Tate, Landry and Blakely.
“Our story has come full-circle,” Alexis says. “Both our boys will be starting school at Carroll Elementary in the fall, with Tate in kindergarten and Landry in preschool. We want nothing more than for our kids to experience the same community and traditions we grew up with.”
As for Alexis and Riley, she says they will continue to strengthen their foundations with the community, their family and each other.
“We plan to keep building relationships in Southlake and pouring into kids’ lives,” she says. “We love being back home with the people we love. Once a Dragon, always a Dragon.”
