Tamika Taylor is taking her message far beyond DFW.
The mindset coach, speaker, entrepreneur, retreat leader, and 2024 Southlake Style Women’s Luncheon keynote speaker recently shared that her podcast, Say More Words, has reached the coveted top 5% of self-help podcasts internationally — a milestone that places her growing platform in rare company within one of podcasting’s most competitive categories.
For Tamika, the achievement is especially meaningful because launching the podcast was not easy at first.
“Honestly, I should have created a podcast two years earlier than I did, but I was scared,” she admits. “I was scared of the technology. I was scared of the work it was going to take.”
Once she began, though, the experience became something bigger than she expected. Listeners started reaching out to tell her how episodes had encouraged them, comforted them, or helped them through difficult moments. One listener even shared that her daughter, a college softball player, listens to Taylor’s podcast on the way to games.
“It’s been the most amazing experience, getting to help people and be a part of their lives,” Tamika says.
One of her most personal episodes, “Finding The Joy In My Trauma,” has become her most shared episode, reaching listeners across the globe. Though Taylor says it felt vulnerable to tell that part of her story, the response reminded her why the work matters.
“It allowed me to not only heal, but also to heal others,” she says.
Now, she has her sights set even higher. She is taking the podcast live across the country, has signed a deal with SiriusXM in Las Vegas, and hopes to continue bringing on guests with powerful stories of growth, resilience, and transformation.
Her ultimate goal? To one day build a platform big enough that Oprah says yes.
“Our goal is to get in the top 1% globally recognized,” Taylor says. “Self-help is the hardest category in podcasting to get to the top in, and we’re excited. We’re going to get there.”
